February 2016

Happy February!
And this February was very happy!
First up, we had a visit to Shriner's Hospital to check out Micah's hips. I always have such anxiety for hip checks--will this be the time they haven't progressed and this kiddo needs hip surgery?
THIS WAS HAPPY BECAUSE HIS HIPS LOOK AWESOME!
That means he got to take some time out of the Pavlik harness every day!
Hey, 4 hours out doesn't sound like much, but the chance to cuddle this cutie pie without that darned harness?!? Heavenly.

Micah was pretty happy with the news!

Hooray for being able to wear pants!
February was also awesomely special because the Provo City Center Temple had open houses before it was open for worship.
The beautiful Christus Statue in the visitor's center remind us that everything we do in the Temple--and everything we do in life--should turn us to Christ. Because he is waiting, with arms wide open, for us to come unto Him.

This temple used to be a tabernacle where the community held concerts and recitals, some college graduations, and our church stake conferences. Then it burned down in a terrible fire. Everyone in the community was devastated by the loss of this pioneer-era landmark.
But this was such a great example of how God can take the fires of our lives that gut us and leave us feeling so hurt and confused and broken, and turn them into something more than we'd ever imagined.
"But this was a GOOD thing! God, how could you let it be destroyed?!?"
Because he has something even better planned for us.
This may have been the theme of the next few months of our life.
In some ways, the next few years.
We got stuck a lot in wondering why things were falling apart. Thankfully, God can see the end from the beginning.

So it was quite exciting to tour the beautifully renewed and sacred temple and remember.
And show our kids what God can do with our lives.

Thank goodness for a refuge from the storms of the world!

February is also a SUPER-WONDERFUL month because we get to celebrate our two favorite girls!
Sheridan turned 9!
She wanted a beautiful, elegant white cake with buttercream rosettes.
Sheridan is a big fan of elegant. And fancy.
Sheridan had a cupcake decorating party with a bunch of her awesome friends!
Sheridan is determined, smart, driven, assertive, motivated young lady. She loves turtles, dancing, acting, drawing, sewing, and being needed. She is generally quite organized.
Padme Amidala is her favorite Star Wars character.
Hermoine Granger from Harry Potter is her hero.
Her favorite color is purple.
She loves ham and au gratin potatoes.
She loves being in charge.
She is awesome and we love her.

Amelia turned 5 this year!
She is still really into Wonder Woman (thanks for the perfect gift for her, Grandpa and Grandma Carla!).

She wanted chickie cupcakes for her birthday.
Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Amelia had a super hero birthday , and she really wanted a Wonder Woman cake. Challenge accepted!
Tyler got to take Sheridan and the kids to the school Family Valentine's dance. They got all fancy for some pictures!

Random fun!

Cole was lookin' mighty fine in his new hat and fuzzy hoodie!
Oh Micah, what big blue eyes you have!
Also, you look good in pants!
Tyler had the chance to attend a BYU basketball game with Pop! Pop is not the biggest BYU fan (because he's a University of Utah fan. I guess going to the enemy's basketball game is better than not going to a game?) but he was a good sport!

We were so excited to have Pop stay with us during his trip out West!

He said he "mustache" us to be his Valentines!
Family is the best!

Tyler took Sheridan and Henry on a trip to the temple during a gorgeous February day. You have to soak up the winter sunshine when you can!

Cute Micah learned how to roll over (again!) with his harness off for a few hours a day!

He also learned how to make the same silly face Jack used to when he was a baby.

Amelia learned that it is important to keep a sword close around this house. You can never be too careful when Vigues are around!

January 2016

January is boring for some people, but not for us! We get to celebrate Cole's birthday!
This year Cole turned 3!! His Grammy and Pop gave him a suitcase so he can pull his own weight on our trips to New Jersey! He loved the rocket ships!
He requested a "Worman cake!"
What the heck!?! So get got a dirt colored cake with gummy worms. He seemed happy enough with that, so we're calling it a win!He was so excited for the candles!
Cole has loads of energy and loves to be busy and active.
He has his own mind, for sure!
Cole loves snakes and lizards.
His favorite color is turquoise blue.
He adores his baby brother.
Backyardigans is his favorite show.

The kiddos have figured out some fun ways to combat the slow, cold month of January.
They performed a play and recruited Dad to fill in some roles.
Sheridan designed and built (again, she recruited Dad for help) the Book Hook, a little bookshelf one can hang on their bed--super handy for bunk beds!

She modeled it so nicely!

Sheridan also received an "Everyday Leader" award for  the school.

Micah kept me busy, looking so cute!

I honestly cannot get enough of his handsome face! I love to snuggle him and he loves to be snuggled!
Jack placed in the grade spelling bee and won second place!
Tyler escaped the cold altogether at the end of the month and went to the Rising Star Outreach campus in India to celebrate the dedication of the Ron and Joyce Hanson Hostel. Tyler was so blessed to be a part of the big things at RSO. We had no idea this would be his last trip to India.
This trip he was there over a weekend and had the chance to visit some historical sites. I really need him to remind me where these are!
It was hot and beautiful and quite the contrast to January in Utah!

While he was gone, my girlfriends and I took our oldest girls to BYU Theater Ballet's production of Alice in Wonderland. The dancing was beautiful, but the costumes and sets blew us away!
So grateful for girlfriends who help keep me sane, especially when Tyler's not home!

These cute girls loved the ballet part, even if we all agreed that Alice in Wonderland is a WEIRD story!

We wrapped up the month with a birthday celebration for Great Grandpa! It's always fun with those Limbergs and Martins!
